Formed from steam-bent, twisted ash, the Twist bench will accommodate up to four sitters with comfort. The curvaceous symmetry of the design accentuates the grain of the carefully selected ash timber.
The Twist bench is made in England by expert craftsmen who specialise in traditional and new steam-bending techniques.
This poised, sculptural object sits lightly in every sense.

The Twist bench is just what the name suggests - three twists of timber, suspended with connecting bolts through spacer-blocks of wood.
The bench construction uses very little energy: enough to steam the timber until it is flexible enough to bend by hand.
The timber itself is FSC-certified ash, sourced from forestry in the UK and sealed with natural oil to protect the grain.
There is a very small amount of water-based glue used to connect the bolt caps and spacer-blocks. The connecting bolts, hidden in the timber, are removeable and the bench could be disassembled; however it is made to last a lifetime and then another.
