Pennyfields shines at Metamorphosis exhibition during LDF

With the London Design Festival complete I finally have a chance to look back at the Metamorphosis exhibition a reflect on the weeks events. Firstly I would like to thank the team at Metropolitan Works (Matthew, Jodie, Linden, Ed, Alison, Chloe, Marcus, Lydia…) for helping develop the products and for organising a great event. The Terrace at Tom Dixon’s was an ideal position and really helped showcase all the winning products. It was also a great chance for me to get to find out more about the other designers and their designs. It was a talented group and I am sure I will work with them again.

As for the week it’s self, from a slow start on monday, things started to get busy Wednesday in time for the Tom Dixon opening party. Unfortunately on Thursday the rain dampend things, including our tent, but that didn’t deter the hardy vistors keen on capturing as much design inspiration they could during the week. A large proportion of those visitors had made an even bigger effort, as a large European contingent had made their way across the channel to see what London had to offer.

The Pennyfields chair went down really well. People loved the bamboo finish and the mid-century styling. Having a the final chair there rather than just a model was helpful too. People were able to sit on it to make sure it was comfortable. Most thought it was great, but there were a few who liked it but offered suggestions and tweaks. It is always good to get feedback and I am currently tweaking the chair ever so slightly to see if I can win over the final few.
