Reee chair wins ‘Best Furniture Product’

Hidden Art is an award-winning not for profit membership organisation that supports and promotes UK designers and designer makers. Pli has been a member since the day we started in 2003.

This year the Reee chair was shortlisted for the Best Furniture, Lighting or Interior Product Award at their annual and fairly prestigious awards night. It won!

The designers of the chair, Sprout Design, collected the award rightly for all the work and imagination they have put in to give form to the idea behind the Reee chair. Congratulations to them and to all the other organisations that have played a crucial part in bringing the idea to life.

Hidden Art celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The Hidden Art shop is a successful online retailer of British designed interior and homeware products. You can buy our Reee chair from Hidden Art as well as a lot of other beautifully designed creations. As the value of local design and manufacturing is being extolled in the media by politicians and business figures during the first quarter of 2009, the people behind the Hidden Art organisation are once again justified in their unshakeable support for British designer-makers.

Eco-friendly materials and British making were given the seal of approval at London Fashion Week last week. The Reee chair was requested by the organisers of the British Fashion Council’s Estethica showcase of ethical designer fashion, as seating for their visitors. We were glad to oblige. The seating was supplied through Eco Age in Chiswick, where you can also try and buy the Reee chair.
