Alex Whitney is a product designer, with a Bachelor of Design from Massey University, New Zealand. He has worked in the furniture industry since 2004 for Formway Furniture Ltd, where he developed a desking system now licensed to Bretford, a partner of Herman-Miller. He currently is living in London, where he has been working at Pli Design Ltd since November 2007.Christopher
Christopher Pett established Pli in 2003. He's responsible for business development, research, partnerships and finance. Before starting to make bamboo and wood furniture by hand in 2003, Christopher spent 6 months in Australia and India researching bamboo growing and process techniques. Since then he's specialised in developing new concepts for sustainable product design and manufacture.Ed
Ed will be working with Pli for a month from the end of August. Ed comes to us fresh from Nottingham University where he graduated this year with a Masters degree in Product Design and Manufacture. Ed will be working with Pli on the launch of the Reee chair and developing the Waste Neutral mark with the Eden Project.Eray
Eray Cayli was part of the team for two months (March & April 2007), working on life-cycle analysis with Pli Design Ltd and he's still actively involved in Pli's research work. He has obtained his B.Sc. degree 'Industrial Product Design' from Istanbul Technical University in June 2007. At the moment he is pursuing his education as a student in MFA Experience Design, at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.Jane

Tim Maughan M.Eng graduated from Nottingham University with a 2.1 in Product Design and Manufacture in the summer of 2008. Tim is spending a few weeks with Pli to look into sustainable packaging design and logistics.
